Fredrick A. Husted

Fredrick A. Husted, age 72 of Rocky Hill, CT died April 23, 2026 in West Hartford, CT.

Fred was born in Syracuse New York to Harvey and Jean (Ethel) Windhausen Husted on February 24, 1954.  

He graduated from East Syracuse/Minoa High School in 1972.  Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving from 1972-1976.  Fred went on to become a truck driver, which he did until he retired.  

Some people knew him as Fred, family members as Fritz, many of his friends called him Mick or Mickey.  His favorite things to do were party with friends, drink beer and ride his motorcycle. He loved listening to music and enjoyed live bands. When he relocated to CT, he sold his motorcycle and later bought himself the Harley Trike that he always wanted.

Fred is survived by his son Brad Husted and wife Christine of Uncasville CT, his daughters: Leann Husted and Chris Drew of Cromwell, CT, Tiffany Keene of Syracuse, NY.

Grandchildren: Kira, Jacob, Arik, Wade, Kacey, Brayden (all in CT) as well as Ashlee, Emily, and Hailey of Syracuse, NY, His brother Russell Husted of Kirkville, NY., A sister-in-law, Judy Husted of New Hampshire, along with her children, Harvey, Steven, Heather, Coral and Dwayne.  He also leaves behind his girlfriend, Kathy Stout of Rocky Hill, CT.

He was predeceased by his daughter Brittney J. Husted, his parents, a brother Harvey P. Husted and a sister Valerie Husted. 

Fred will be cremated, with his ashes being buried with his parents in Minoa, NY.
