Gail Skiba Lyons 1941-2021

Gail Skiba Lyons, 80, of Enfield, CT, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on October 18, 2021.


Gail was born in Hartford, CT on July 12, 1941. Gail worked as a customer service associate at Cohoes in East Windsor, CT, which later became Burlington Coat Factory. Gail loved her job, assisting her customers find the perfect clothes and she especially loved working at the Baby Depot at Cohoes. Gail also helped start the Women of the Moose Thompsonville Chapter 1525, where she held degrees in the Academy of Friendship, College of Regents and was also Star Recorder. She was very active in the Chapter, and always enjoyed volunteering for the annual Senior Citizens Dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She loved to crochet and she gave many of her creations to friends and family, especially baby clothes and kitchen towels.


Gail was predeceased by her husband, Robert, her mother Isabel Skiba, her father, Frank Skiba, her sister Georgiana (Georgie) Bagalieri , her brothers, James A. Skiba and William H. Skiba.


Gail leaves behind her daughter, Vicky Zalewski, her daughter Valerie Lyons and her fiancée Mark D’Alessandro and her son, Robert Lyons, and her 2 grandchildren, Breanna Provencher and Justin Lyons as well as her sisters, Karen Whalen, Susan Lane and her husband, Keith, Leona Smith and her husband David. Gail also leaves behind her nieces and nephews all whom she loved dearly.


A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date to be announced by her family.
