Gary Anthony Sprague Sr, 75 , of Chaplin CT died on Sunday, July 30, 2023 after a three-year bout with cancer. He passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife Kathryn of 48 years by his side and was surrounded by the love of his family. Gary will be remembered for his kind heart and his tremendous love for his family and friends.
Always willing to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.
Gary served three years in the Army, worked as a machinist and retired from Pratt & Whitney aircraft after 37 years. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Irma and Herbert Sprague, brothers, Manford and Herbert Sprague and sister Jannette Talbot, and sister In-laws Rosalie Beattie, Peggy Milhomme, and brother In-laws, Gerard Milhomme, Patrick Schneider, and Michael Dietrich, Sr.
Gary was survived by sister, Beatrice Warner and brother-in-law, Dan Talbot and sister-in-law, Carol Sprague. He leaves behind Three sons, Gary Sprague Jr. his wife Carolyn, Michael Sprague, Christopher Sprague his wife Jennifer and five brother / sister in-laws, Laura Schneider, Diane Dietrich, Sharon and Thomas Milhomme, and six grandchildren, Ashley Haviland, Cody Sprague, Chelsea Sprague, Ruby Sprague, Kyle Sprague, and Dylan Sprague as well as two great granddaughters , Kensley Sprague, and Layla Haviland. We will have a graveside send off on Sunday, August 13,2023 at 12:00pm, South Chaplin Cemetery Route 198 Chaplin Ct. and a Celebration of Life to follow at the “Sprague Compound” 82 Miller Road Chaplin, Ct. In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
An awesome man, friend, father, grandfather, husband, Uncle. Gary was the best . Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again.😢🙏♥️🌹
Gary was more my brother, he was always there for me..Mike and I loved him dearly..We will miss him very much.
