Gary Discko passed away at his home in Stratford on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
Born January 25, 1959. He was a lifetime resident of Stratford and dedicated employee of Butterworth & Scheck Inc. of Stratford where he was a crew foreman, blaster, and one of the hardest working men you could ever meet. He would proudly point out fire hydrants he installed and drive down roads that he ran water mains for.
Gary enjoyed fishing, reptiles, metal detecting, and fixing cars to keep them on the road for decades at a time. He was always willing to help someone especially his many friends and coworkers. Beyond his work and hobbies, he had a large family that he enjoyed making “Sunday Soup” for every week. A legacy that his family will carry on.
He is survived by his son Louis (Erin) Discko, daughter Rebecca (Daniel) Stonitsch, three grandchildren: Sabrina, Abigail and Benjamin Discko. His four siblings: Jeanette (Mike) Castro, Michelle (Sal) Castro, Brian (Darlene) Discko, Janine (Art) Batiste, his longtime companion Marie Onofrio, and many nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by his parents Michael Discko and Shirley Arsenault Discko. His lifelong best friend Dave “Buddy” Brzoska and four-legged best friend Penny.
