George Joseph Williams 1930-2019

George “Bunny” Joseph Williams, 89, of Bolton, beloved husband of 42 years to Donna J Williams passed away at home on December 24, 2019 surrounded by his family.


He was born January 12, 1930 in Jamaica Plains, Massachusetts to the late George and Myrtle Williams. The family then moved to Caribou, Maine. The oldest son, he was predeceased by his sisters Greta Jack, Nadine Corey and his brother Dickie Williams.

George enjoyed his 40 year career as a Union Ironworker out of locals 424 and 15 until his retirement in 1992. It was then that he spent his time sharing his love of the outdoors with his family. He could be seen waiting for his grandchildren and great grandchildren to get off the school bus. Taking them to the backyard to feed the ducks, check on the beaver dams or picking vegetables from his garden with his dogs Custer and Kawlija running along with them. Weekends were spent holding barbecues around the pool. He also enjoyed the road trips he shared with his wife.


George is survived by his daughters, Nancy Williams of East Hartford, Penny Raimondo and her partner Brian Joseph of New Bedford, Ma, Lisa Levitt of South Carolina, Nicole and her husband Jerry Varney of Bolton. His Grandchildren, Lynn Levasseur-Werth and husband Eddie, Marci Letourneau and husband David, Jessica Raimondo-Traska and husband Sean, Ashley Levitt and fiancée Bobby Berube, Michael Raimondo and wife Jennifer, Kailey Vale, and Rowan Varney. His Great grandchildren, Tyler and Victoria Werth, Alexis, Chloe, and Max Berube, Tristan Raimondo, Brody Traska, Ryan and Hayley Raimondo.


In keeping with George's wishes, the family will be holding a private celebration of his life in the spring.
