Georgiana Ryta Cote

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Georgiana Ryta Cote who departed this life on August 13, 2025, at the age of 68. Born in Hartford, CT, on June 17, 1957, Gigi touched the lives of many throughout her years. Known for her kindness and feisty spirit, she will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her.

Georgiana Ryta Cote is survived by her cousin Yvette Cantrell, of Manchester; her godfather Ronald Bedard, of Farmington; her sisters Laura Kozin, of IA; Diane Owens, of CT; Terri Aguilar, of LaPaz, MX; her brother Joseph Bramande, of MD; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; very dear friends who supported her; and her beloved cat, Vivie, who has moved to Iowa.

Gigi was preceded in death by her partner of 28 years Paul Amenta; and her parents, A. Henry Cote and G. Ryta (Levesque) Cote, who made their loving, family home on Stanley St., in East Hartford. She attended St. Mary’s School in East Hartford and graduated from EHHS in 1975. She found joy in sharing the events of life with family and friends; in her beloved cats over the years, and in bargain-hunting. She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 12^th at 12:00PM at Glastonbury Community Church.  Inurnment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford, Massachusetts.
