Gerald “Jerry” W. Banks

Gerald W. Banks, 86 of South Windsor, CT, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was the last surviving sibling of nine children and carried the memories and legacy of his family with him throughout his life.

Born on April 25, 1940 in Worcester, NY. Gerald was the beloved son of Maurice and Katherine (Brown) Banks. He was born and raised in New York, where, years later he decided to call Connecticut home. From 19601966, he was a member of the Army National Guard.

Jerry was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his love for puzzles, eagles, country music, and the Yankees. He had a great love for bowling and enjoyed being a part of a bowling league.

Gerald was preceded in death by his loving wife Violet; his parents; and his eight siblings: Ernest, Charlotte, Paulene, Myra, Kenneth, Donald, Raymond, and Gary. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie; his three step-children Denise, Bobby, and Wayne; his grandchildren, Dalton, Wade, Shayla, Jason, Ryan, Michele, Heather, Jacob; and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews of whom he loved very much!

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
