Grace Ann Cipriano

Mystic, Connecticut

Grace Ann Cipriano, 74, of Mystic, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 15, 2025, surrounded by her children.

Grace was born on April 18, 1951, in the Bronx, New York, the fourth of five children to Mary Aguiar Cipriano and Evaristo Cipriano. She spent most of her childhood in Ludlow, Massachusetts. During high school, she moved to Ledyard, Connecticut, where she graduated from Ledyard High School.

She spent 25 years working in various roles within the State of Connecticut. At 50, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Eastern Connecticut State University—an achievement that reflected her perseverance and lifelong love of learning. After retirement, she devoted her time to volunteering at the Johnnycake Center and teaching English as a Second Language.

Grace found joy in life’s simple but meaningful moments — hiking, traveling, and spending sunny days at Misquamicut State Beach with family and friends. She loved playing Mahjong, Quiddler, and Scrabble, and her sharp wit and warm laughter made her a welcome presence wherever she went.

Grace’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Mullett, and son-in-law, Craig Mullett, and their daughters, Emma and Riley; and by her son, Joseph Cipriano, and his daughter, Alijandra Cipriano. She shared a deep and special bond with her granddaughters, whose lives were brightened by her love, encouragement, and gentle presence.

She is also survived by her sisters, Rosemary Eaton of Hallieford, Virginia; Alice George of Springfield, Virginia; and Linda Hawkins of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She was predeceased by her brother, Jack Cipriano of Saunderstown, Rhode Island, and by her stepdaughter, Jessica Kupczak of Colchester, Connecticut.

Fiercely independent, Grace lived life on her own terms, guided by integrity, resilience, and compassion for others. Her greatest strength lay in her caring heart — always reaching out to help those in need with warmth and understanding.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vintage Pet Rescue of Rhode Island, PO Box 194, Foster, RI 02825, or to the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation (AAMDSIF), 401 N. Washington Street, Suite 430, Rockville, MD 20850.
