Irma Lluis Camacho

Irma Lluis Camacho, 82, of  Shelton, CT (formerly of Trumbull, CT) passed away on Sunday, September 29th. Born September 1, 1942 in Havana, Cuba. She has been married to Antonio M Camacho Sr for 64 years. Together they escaped Cuba to the United States on December 31,1961 in hopes for a better life of freedom. They arrived in tow with their 6 month old daughter with the second child on the way. Their life here in the states was surely better than what became of their country, but not without its challenges. She faced every aspect of her life with determination, tenacity, courageousness, and a never-give-up mentality. Her family was everything to her and her main focus all her life. She is survived by her daughters Irma M Camacho of Milford (formally of Trumbull), and Ileana Kotulich of Monroe (Joe), and was predeceased by her son Tony Camacho, Jr. She so loved her grandchildren Vanessa Piccuillo Scanlon (Chris) of Middlebury, Bobby Piccuillo (Calleigh) of Milford, Jonathan Kotulich of Monroe, CT, Janina Kotulich McCue (Will) of Waterbury, VT, and Austin Camacho of Shelton, CT. Her fondest memories were all the trips especially to Disney World and Wednesdays having them at her house afterschool then for dinner. The honor to have 3 great-grandchildren filled her with so much joy Brady Scanlon, Connor Scanlon, and Jamie McCue. Of course, her precious dog Angelina, who brought her so much happiness.

There will be a Catholic Mass on Saturday November 30th, 11am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 275 Union Ave, Bridgeport, CT followed by her burial in Trumbull. Family and friends are welcomed to attend.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help family with expenses for her widowed husband.
