In Middletown, August 31, 2025, Jacquline A. Newton Brainard Snow, 88, of Northford.  Wife of the late Chester Snow. Loving mother of Robert B. Brainard III (Joanne) of Middletown, CT, David N. Brainard (Maela) of Cocoa Beach, FL, Bradford Snow (Cindy) of Middlefield, CT.  Sister of Joann Rae Newton Williams of East Hampton, CT, and Raymond James Newton (Joyce) of Nevada. Also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan Brainard (Molly) of Utah, and Cara Brainard of Arizona, Kim Snow of Middlefield and great grandchild, Olive Brainard of Utah and nieces and nephews, Robin Williams of East Hartford, Dawn Brown of Pipersville, PA and Peter Newberry (Kim) of Sarasota, FL. She also leaves behind her close friend, Joe Flynn of Northford. 


Jacquline was born in Middletown, CT, on October 31, 1936, daughter of the late Dorothy (Maxwell) and Raymond G. Newton. Jacquline grew up in Portland, CT before moving with her family to Middletown where she graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1954.  Following high school, Jacquline attended the Connecticut Institute of Hairdressing in Hartford and worked for many years at Bunces Department Store on Main Street in Middletown where she had a steady clientele.  Jacquline was also very creative and attended the Chase School of Art in Sarasota, FL after which she opened her own stenciling business.  She enjoyed flowers and was a member of Westfield’s Garden Club.  In her later years, Jacquline enjoyed going to flea markets on the weekends with her dear friend Joe Flynn where she was able to spend time with her many friends.  The family would like to thank the nurses at Apple Rehab in Middletown and the hospice nurses for their compassionate care of Jacquline.


A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on November 1 at Pine Grove Cemetery, 857 South Main Street in Middletown.
