It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Arthur Gardner.
James Arthur Gardner, 61, beloved son and brother passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2021. He was born on May 29,1960 in Montgomery, Alabama. At the age of seven, his parents moved to Hartford, Connecticut from Newark, New Jersey. He attended Brackett Northeast School and Weaver High School. While at Weaver, James was an extremely affable, athletic, and jovial type of person. He was also a competitive member of Weaver High School’s Swim Team and won numerous medals. In the last several years, he worked for the Fashion Box.
Not only did James work in the fashion industry, he was a flamboyant dresser and loved to travel. James had a genuine passion for his family and friends, and he devoted much of his time and energy caring for his mother and would spend his free time visiting and video conferencing other members of his family and friends. He also attended Mount Olive Baptist Church.
James is predeceased by his father, Jimmie Gardner; his brother Alphonso Gardner; his sisters Rosemary Gardner, and Connie Bowman. He is survived by his mother Juanita Gardner; sisters Anita Dandridge, Ora Dee Fountain; and his brothers, Robert Gardner and Kyrone Gardner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and dear friends.
