James E. “Jim” Rose, 63, of South Windsor passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Jim was born on November 24, 1960, in Hartford, one of three beloved children of the recently departed Jon E. Rose and Lucretia G. Rose. Jim was a graduate of South Windsor High School class of 1978 and The United States Navy. Jim lived for many years in Vernon and East Hartford before moving back to South Windsor about 10 years ago.
Jim was a very talented welder & mechanic until he became disabled. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and he enjoyed gardening. Jim leaves behind his daughter Jaime Coker and her husband Ray and his grandchildren Ezra Coker & Nerayah Coker, his son Jonathan Rose, his two sisters Lynn Rose Greer & her husband Kevin, and Ruth Rose Lariviere & her husband Chris. He also leaves behind his nieces & nephews; Megan Greer and her fiancé Jim Boyle and their baby Colton James, Matthew Greer, Cassidy Lariviere & her fiancé Hunter Pasqualini, and Riley Lariviere.
Jim’s family would like to thank all of the nurses & staff at DaVita Dialysis of Vernon for their outstanding care. Jim’s family will honor his memory with a private gathering at a later date to be determined.
