James H. Crail




James Henry Crail, 88, peacefully passed away on Saturday January 6, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after battling vascular dementia. James was born on September 2, 1935 in Oklahoma City, OK. He served 20 years in the US Marines as a Staff Sargeant, including deployments to Vietnam and Okinawa, Japan. After serving he and his wife Janice raised their family in Maynard, MA before retiring to Punta Gorda, FL.

James (Jim, Jimmy, Mr. Crail, Grampa Yay) will be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and a very hard working man who always made time to be either present at or coached all of his sons' sporting events. He was a true gentleman to everyone he met. As a Marine he took great pride in serving his country.  He is predeceased by his wife, Janice, with whom he shared a life with for 55 years.  He is survived by son Richard and daughter-in-law Dori of East Hampton, CT, son Ronald and partner Teri of Grafton, MA,  son Joey and daughter-in-law Erin of Tewksbury, MA, and grandchildren Samantha, Montana, Makenna, Tristan, Colleen and Kileigh. James also leaves behind many cherished friends from the Blue Heron Pines community in Punta Gorda, FL where he and Jan lived for 17 years.
