James Hadgkiss 1953-2020

In addition to his loving wife Linda of 44 years he is survived by his two children, Christopher and Jamie; his sister, Ellen Horton; his niece, Alyssa Horton; and many relatives and friends.

James was born in Queens, NY to the late Jack and Ellen (Seaman) Hadgkiss. He was raised in West Hempstead, NY, where he met and maintained many of his lifelong friendships. After graduating SUNY at Farmingdale, he eventually landed his dream job with Arett Sales, where he had a long, successful, distinguished career selling lawn and garden supplies. A born salesman he enjoyed working weekends at local flea markets. He loved telling jokes, holding court and teaching gardening tips to his customers. James married the love of his life, Linda Veselitza, in 1976 and their journey began. Working side by side they were a team until the very end. He was most proud of his children, Christopher and Jamie.

In addition to his loving wife Linda of 44 years he is survived by his two children, Christopher and Jamie; his sister, Ellen Horton; his neice, Alyssa Horton; and many relatives and friends.

There will be a celebration of James’s life in the spring...

I am so saddened to hear about my good friend’s passing. We were close since elementary school and got even closer playing football in high school. We spent many Friday nights doing things we weren’t supposed to do together! All great memories my dear friend “Farmer “ Always by your side on the field “Fuzzy “ Rich Forzano
