James William Havens, 79, of Connecticut, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, in New Britain, one day after his birthday. He was born on April 24, 1947.

James was predeceased by his parents, James Wheatley and Mary Colovi Havens Pezzenti of Manchester.

He leaves behind his best friend Angela Havens Case and their predeceased son James Lance Havens. He had five cherished grandchildren: Tyler, Maryssa, Cheyanne, Ryan, and Natasha, as well as eight great-grandchildren who brought him great pride and joy.

Known to many as “Jim,” he was a gifted artist and craftsman whose talents included woodworking, carvings, sculptures, paintings, and large wall murals. Throughout his life, Jim proudly accomplished several one-man art shows throughout Connecticut, sharing his creativity and passion with others.

Jim had a deep love for nature, animals, and the outdoors. A true sportsman and outdoor man, he found peace and happiness surrounded by the beauty of the natural world.

He will be remembered for his artistic spirit, his appreciation for nature, and the lasting memories he created with those who knew and loved him.

There will be a private memorial at a later date.
