Joan Farrell Edwards

Joan Farrell Edwards of Rocky Hill, 71, passed from this world on May 24th 2024, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind warm memories of her bright laughter and loyal friendships.

She was a graduate of Wethersfield High School, class of 1971, and St.Joseph’s College. She enjoyed her work as a flight attendant for TWA, traveling throughout the world, often with the delightful companionship of her parents, the late Bob and Mary Farrell. She served for several years as manager of Tapestry Rose, a gift shop by the river in Rocky Hill. Later she worked as a paralegal for the law firm of Griffith and Kelly in Newington.

She has survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dave Edwards, children Aleah Ellis of Berlin CT and her lovely daughter Lexi; David Edwards and his wife Stephanie, of Eagle CO; and Zachary Edwards of Anchorage AK. She also leaves her sister Lynn, of San Cristobal, Mexico; her brother Bob and his wife Sally, of Southington CT; and her niece Lauren Marina, her husband Hiram, and their two sons, Dante and Maximo.

She loved boating and camping on the Connecticut River and overlooking the St.Lawrence River with her Canadian friends. She will be greatly missed by her many cousins, who were like brothers and sisters to her, sharing childhood and adult times in the family homes on Wolfe Island, Ontario. She gathered many precious friends over the years, and also branched out on Facebook to make friends around the globe.

There will be a memorial celebration of her life at the Tabernacle, 1445 West Street, Southington on Thursday, June 27th at 11:00 a.m. Casual dress please.

Remembrance donations may be made to The Tabernacle, to support its Giving Back Food Pantry. Donations may be made by check or online at www.tabernacleonline.com.
