John J. Clark
John J. Clark, 86, of Middletown, Connecticut, passed away surrounded by the love of his
family.
Born and raised in Branford, John was the son of Mildred Clark and John H. Clark and was
predeceased by his brothers Richard Clark and David Clark.
John will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his remarkable work ethic,
and his quiet strength. He was deeply devoted to his beloved wife of 64 years, Leona, who was the center of his world. Together they built a family rooted in love, faith, and resilience.
He leaves behind his children Terri Clark, Amy Clark James and husband Mark, and Keith
Clark and wife Marcie; grandchildren Jeremy Clark and wife Michelle, Alex Clark, Laura
Clark, Taylor James, Noah James and wife Jasmine, Mary Clark, and Kacie Clark; and his
great-grandson Silas Clark, all of whom carry forward his legacy.
After graduating high school, John joined the Army Reserves and later began a long career at Eversource (formerly CL&P), working first as a lineman and eventually as a dispatch
supervisor. He retired at age 55 and he and Leona moved to Maine where he went on to build a successful blacksmith and cabinetry business for more than 30 years, sharing his craftsmanship and talents with his son.
John found joy in spending time with his family, fishing, boating, and working in his blacksmith shop. Throughout his life, he leaned on his faith in his Lord, Jesus Christ, which guided him through every season.
John’s legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the work he took pride in, and the faith that
sustained him.
