John Joseph DiLuzio (‘Fat Jack’), 74, Berlin, Connecticut, passed away August 28,2022. Jack was a graduate of New Britain High School. As a young man he was active in the Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Later in life he joined various social and civic organizations. Among them, The Elks Club, Berlin Lions Club, Connecticut Striper Club, Donau Austrian Social Club, and others. He was a retiree of the Town of Berlin. Jack lived his life doing the things he loved: carpentry, building and property maintenance, fishing, boating, hunting, cooking, and gardening.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Sonia (Balkun) DiLuzio, and his brother, William John DiLuzio. He is survived by his sister, Rev. Diane E. DiLuzio, East Syracuse, New York; his brother and sister-in-law, Michael William and Gale (Potter) DiLuzio, Cromwell; his sister-in-law, Patti DiLuzio, Rock Hill, South Carolina; his aunt, Anne (DiLuzio) Marchetti, along with his cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and his long-time good buddy, John Wicklund.
Abbey Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Rocky Hill, is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will gather privately at a future date to celebrate his life.
