Jon “Moby” Dennis Perry, age 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family and friends on Friday, April 10, 2026 in the home of Brittany Scinto, R.N. and her family, who cared for him during the last week of his life after a long battle with a respiratory illness.

Jon was born on September 22, 1950, to Sofia (Sue) and George Angell in Bridgeport, CT, and was later adopted by John Perry. He attended St. Patrick’s School and Central High School. As a child, Jon learned to swim at the North End Boys Club in Bridgeport and he became an exceptional swimmer. As a teenager, he was an avid bass guitar player and enjoyed the camaraderie of playing in a local band. In the spirit of the times of Rock and Roll, Jon rode Harley Davidson motorcycles. He spent time riding with his buddies who each had a nickname or two given to them by Jon, a testament to his humor and his deep affection for those in his life. When he had decided to move on from riding motorcycles, his need for speed led him to become a skilled skier of double black diamond slopes.

Jon was a man defined by his entrepreneurial spirit, his physical vitality, and his long-standing career. In the 1980s, Jon was the proud owner of Moby's Rubbish Removal and a partner in P&P Carting. After that time, he worked for other companies driving a rock truck and a roll off truck. His grit and reliability in his trade were the hallmarks of his professional life. When he was not working, Jon spent his free time enjoying the local beaches, swimming, and watching sports. Jon appreciated delicious food, especially in the last days of his life.

Jon is survived by his children: Alicia Perry-Rosa (Jorge), Alex Perry (Heather), and Brittany Scinto (Robert); and his stepdaughter, Cortney Squezello. His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren: Christiana Rosa, Annabella Rosa, Brian Rosa, Angelina Rosa, Nicholle Perry, Alex Perry Jr., and Brayden Scinto. He is also survived by his dog and namesake, Moby.

His surviving siblings include Jordan D. Perry Sr., Jacquelynn Perry, Laura Young (James),

and Charles Bennett (Mary). He also leaves behind his Aunt Lillian Cotto, his nephew Jordan Perry Jr., his niece Melissa Perry, and many additional nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his ex-wife and the mother of Alicia and Alex, Mary Jane Perry.

Jon was predeceased by his wife and mother of Brittany, Janice Perry; his mother, Sofia (Sue) Perry; his brother, Jeffrey Perry; his father, John Perry; his stepmother, Anna Perry; his biological father, George Angell; his stepson, Robert Rotonto Jr.; and his faithful dogs, Buzzy, Joshua, and Opie.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Jon’s life, carrying his memory with us in every story told and every shared moment. Jon’s Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret’s Shrine, 2523 Park Avenue, Bridgeport. A private interment at St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford will take place at a later date.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the medical teams who provided care to Jon

during his illness and to Father Jeff Couture for performing the Catholic Last Rites for Jon.
