WATERBURY — With heavy hearts, and deep gratitude for a life full of love, laughter, and music, the family of Joseph Roy Boutin shares the news of his unexpected passing on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the age of 68.

Joe was born on January 28, 1957, in Burlington, Vermont, to the late Roy and Catherine Boutin. He spent many years working as a toolmaker, a job that suited his patience and eye for detail. But Joe was so much more than his work — he was creative, funny, and full of life.

Music was one of Joe’s greatest joys. He loved to DJ for family and friends and was affectionately known as “DJ Joe” by his friends at Waterbury Garden Residential Care Home. If there was music playing, Joe was sure to be nearby, tapping his foot, sharing a smile, and making sure everyone was having a good time.

He was also an incredibly talented tailor who often showed up to special events wearing one of his own creations — always with a touch of flair. Joe loved puzzles, a good game of chess, and spending time with people who made him laugh. His quick wit, kind heart, and love of the little things made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.

Joe’s life was one of quiet impact and genuine warmth. He’ll be remembered with smiles, stories, and maybe even a song or two — and, of course, that shiny suit.

He leaves behind his daughters, Jesica and Crystal, and his grandchildren, Devin and Alexia, who brought him so much pride and joy. He’s also survived by his brothers Paul, Lou, and Frank, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. Joe was predeceased by his sister Leah Stout, and brother-in-law, Pete Stout.

Please join us on Saturday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Woodtick Cemetery (entrance next to Woodtick Memorial Funeral Home) in Wolcott as we come together to remember our beloved friend Joe. Bring your fondest memories to share with family and friends as we celebrate his life.
