Joseph Paul Beaurivage Sr.

Updated: Apr 22

Joseph Paul Beaurivage Sr., aged 94, of Newington, CT, peacefully passed away on April 12, 2024. Born in Hartford and raised in New Britain, CT, Paul assumed the role of head of the household at the tender age of 12 following the untimely death of his beloved father, Patrick, who passed at 36. Amidst these challenges, he held multiple jobs to support his two younger siblings. At 16, driven by a sense of duty, Paul enlisted in the Army Air Corps.

Paul’s life was enriched when he met the love of his life and future wife, Bernice, at a community dance. Their enduring love blossomed into a 70-year marriage. The couple settled in Newington, CT, where Paul dedicated his career to construction and later, the Town of Newington Highway Department. An active community member, he was a founding member of the Friends of Football, a proud member of the Catholic War Veterans, and a devoted volunteer at Holy Spirit Church.

In retirement, Paul found joy in catering events and working at Vito's Newington Meat Market. His legacy continues through his loving family: his three children Sharon Campbell, Joseph Paul Beaurivage Jr. and Cindy Carr, Sondra and Jon Banford; six grandchildren Ryan Campbell, Shaun and Justine Campbell, Meghan Campbell and Evan Scarborough, Brianna Beaurivage and Tom Portal, Jacquelyn Beaurivage Banford, and Alexondra Beaurivage Banford; and three great-grandchildren Connor, Darren, and Rachel.

Private services were held for Paul.

In lieu of flowers,  The family requests donations to be sent to: The Newington Friends Football, c/o John Abbate Jr – 2114 Flanagan Drive, Glastonbury
