Beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, Joyce Ellen Adamcewicz, passed away on March 11th, 2026 at the age of 79.  After graduating from Norwich Free Academy  in 1966, Joyce went on to receive her degree in nursing while raising her family. Being a nurse and caring for others filled her soul, and being a visiting nurse was her favorite role in that occupation. Her love of the ocean eventually brought her to Mystic with her husband, Steve Adamcewicz, where she would enjoy many weekends on the boat, and her favorite summer treat - a cold mudslide out on Block Island.

Joyce was a guiding light for many, especially her friends and grandchildren.  She was a reiki and shiatsu master, and a master at laughter.  She loved hummingbirds, fairies, dragonflies, sewing, the beach…and her favorite Disney character, Olaf.

Joyce loved to travel and was adventurous at heart, always wanting to live life to the fullest. She enjoyed being on the ocean, live music, dancing, and spending time with family. She had a passionate spirit for life and adventure - always open to trying new things.  Joyce was fiercely loyal to friends and family. If you needed someone on your side, there was no one better.

Joyce is survived by her sons Peter Kryzwicki, Shawn Fake (Shannon), and Todd Fake, and her stepson Chet Adamcewicz (Ashley), her grandchildren Isabelle Klepach-Fake, Ashlee, Kylee, Liza, and Andrew Fake, Peter and Alex Kryzwicki; her mother Bernice Senkewitcz; and her siblings Nancy Bliven, Cathy Miller (Dale) and Richard Pignataro, and many wonderful friends and family members. She was predeceased by her father Albert C. Pignataro; her husband Steve Adamcewicz; and her daughter in-law Jennifer Fake.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 4pm at Noank Baptist Church.  Joyce wanted a big party afterwards with Jimmy Buffet playing on the stereo. In the famously happy words of Joyce Adamcewicz:  Okey-dokey!   Details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to the Noank Baptist Church, 18 Cathedral Heights, Noank, CT 06340,  or by clicking here https://secure.myvanco.com/L-YSR2/campaign/C-ZHXP
