Juanita B. Dutton

Juanita B. Dutton, aged 105 years, 23 weeks, and 3 days, passed away on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2025, in Ellington, Connecticut. Born in New Brunswick, Canada, Juanita lived a remarkable life characterized by her independence, strength, and resilience.

Throughout her life, Juanita was a dedicated volunteer, serving as a youth leader for organizations such as the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and 4-H.

An aspiring writer and a prolific reader, Juanita was also an avid supporter of the Ellington Library. In her 50s, after being widowed, Juanita took on the challenge of studying Real Estate. She became a Broker and successfully supported herself for the next fifty years. Her fierce independence allowed her to remain in her own home until her final days.

Juanita is survived by her six children, eleven grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom carry on her legacy of strength and independence.

We will remember her.
