Judith “Judy” Ann Galvin (Kubik)

Judith “Judy” Ann Galvin, born on April 23, 1944, in Hartford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Judy was the daughter of Mildred Ellen Kubik and Matthew J. Kubik. She married her beloved husband, Francis Galvin, in 1964. Together, they shared 62 years of marriage and raised their three daughters in Wethersfield, Connecticut.
Family was always at the center of Judy’s life. She and Francis believed that time spent with family was the most important thing, a value that remained constant throughout their marriage. Whether gathered around the table playing a game of Setback or just hanging out, these moments together with family were among life’s greatest joys. Judy (grandma) fostered a fun-loving environment and embraced being the butt of all jokes just to keep the laughs going.
Judy was a successful hairdresser for many years before deciding to go back to school to pursue a degree. After graduating, she began her second career working in a convalescent home as part of the recreation department. She dedicated herself to bringing joy to the residents through the many activities she led each day, including painting, crafts, and games among many others.
Judy had a natural talent for art, particularly watercolor painting. She had a great sense of style - always done up with the most fashionable outfits. She also loved shopping, especially thrifting and finding a good bargain. She and Francis enjoyed watching their favorite sports teams together, including the UConn Huskies, New England Patriots, and Boston Red Sox.
Judy leaves behind her beloved husband, Francis Galvin; her three daughters, JudyAnn and her beloved son-in-law, Michael Urciuoli; MaryEllen O’Keefe and Matthew Cordner; and Patricia Fanelli; and her eight grandchildren: Ryan Urciuoli, Shane O’Keefe and Chelsea Sacco, Ashley Fanelli, Alyssa Urciuoli and her husband, Beau Tillinghast, Jacqueline O’Keefe and John Maher, Brian Fanelli and Shannon Martin, Justin Fanelli and Ella Kemp, and Natalie O’Keefe and her husband, Griffin Jagel.
Judy also leaves behind her sister-in-law Maureen and her husband Paul Beaulieu along with many nieces and nephews.
Judy was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law’s John and Noreen Galvin and James and Louise Galvin and her husband’s twin brother Joseph Galvin.
Judy will be remembered for her loving devotion to her family, along with her artistic spirit, her great sense of style, and the many cherished memories she created with those she loved.
