On August 31, 2023, Julius Louis Szentmiklosy, aged 94 of Shelton, CT, peacefully passed away. Julius was born in Bridgeport, CT in 1929 to the late Julius and Julia (Szabo) Szentmiklosy. He honorably served in the US Marine Corps from 1952-1954. After leaving the military he worked as a car mechanic and a machinist, specializing as a turret lathe operator for many years. Julius was an avid bowler and golfer. He loved taking car trips, traveling across the country several times with his beloved wife Charlotte Marie (McCrea) Szentmiklosy who predeceased him in March 2003. Julius was actively involved in his faith, serving as a Minister with Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Shelton Congregation. He frequently traveled to rural areas to spread the word of God in other states. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had exceptional skills as a car mechanic able to repair anything, and was a skilled handy man. His sense of humor was enjoyed by all. Despite facing numerous health challenges, he was a survivor and fighter, leading a long and productive life. Julius is survived by his devoted children: Dawn Marie DiFederico and her husband William of Stratford, Brenda Lee Clark of Ansonia, Lynn Ann Caserta and her husband Wayne of Shelton, and Shawn Szentmiklosy and his wife Tonya of Morrow Bay, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren: James M. DeCava, Carrie Lee Hayes and her husband Brendan, Devin and Trevor Szentmiklosy, as well as his great grandchildren: Brianna Clark and Livianna Hayes. He was eagerly awaiting the birth of his great, great grandson in January of 2024. A Memorial Service to celebrate Julius’ life will be held on October 28, 2023 at 3:00pm at the Shelton Kingdom Hall, 1 Platt Street, Shelton CT.
