Karl Albert Monty born 7/26/1950 in Shirley, MA passed in Norwich on 1/23/2022.
Karl was a 1972 alumnus of the University of CT with a degree in Physical education. Karl served in the Army and after returning to Civilian life played professional soccer in the US and went on to become the Assistant Coach for the UCONN Men’s Soccer team.
Karl was a dedicated member of the Friends of Soccer as well as an enthusiastic fan of all UCONN sports. Karl retired from the teamsters in 2011.
Karl’s highest priority was being a loving and devoted husband to his wife Michelle, who survives him as well as his treasured son, Adam A. MacDougall and grandson Adam M. MacDougall, all of Preston, CT.
Karl also leaves behind his brother Philip Monty of Willington, CT and his sisters Percy Boucher-Williamson of Rocky Hill, CT, Jo Ouellette of Mansfield, CT and Sirkka Campbell of Beaver Creek, OH.
In addition, Karl is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Karl will be remembered for his keen mind, kind generous heart and his intense desire to help those in need.
Karl loved deeply and in turn was cherished by all.
