Kenneth Stephen Demchak, passed away peacefully in his home on December 26, 2025, and will join his wife Mary Heser who died on October 15, 2025. Ken was born on October 21, 1941 to the late Walter and Vadis Demchak (Branford). He is predeceased by his brother Thomas Demchak (Branford).

Ken is survived by his son, Michael Demchak of New Haven, CT, his daughter, Laurie Giza and her husband Joe Giza of Quincy, MA and by his grandchildren, Eddie and Zoe Giza, also of Quincy, MA. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Connie Demchak and his nephews, Thomas Demchak, Christopher Demchak and his niece, Karen Giuda.

He is also survived by Deborah Sorensen and her family as well as Jeter and Bronx, and Sara Messina and her family. A special thank you to both Deborah and Sara for their loving care for Ken in his final days.

Ken also leaves behind many friends and memories from his days as an umpire for the Connecticut Umpire Association and from Sal Tinari Biddy Basketball both of which he was an active part of for many years.

Ken had many passions, but he especially loved sports, coaching youth sports and umpiring youth baseball games. He stayed loyal as a true Yankee fan despite being married to a Red Sox fan, and he loved watching the UCONN girls basketball games with his late wife Mary. He enjoyed collecting coins to give his grandchildren. He was a kind man who appreciated the simple things in life.
