It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Kenneth A. Paquin (Whitey) 50 from East Killingly, CT on Monday Sept. 18, 2023. Born in Putnam CT on July 6, 1973 to Edward and Nancy (Sonner) Paquin Sr., Ken is known as a hardworking, simple man, who always provided for his family, and never hesitated to help anyone in need.
His work ethic was instilled at a young age as he helped maintain Paquin’s Egg Farm on Bailey Hill Road in East Killingly which was owned and operated by his parents. As this was a seven-day operation, he often stepped in on weekends and holidays to allow his parents some time off.
He attended Ellis Tech, graduating from the Electrical department in 1993. Upon graduation he was hired as a Service Technician for Dalmik Well Drilling in Putnam Connecticut and remained working there until his passing. He was devoted to the company, never missing a day and through his 31 years of employment fostered many lasting friendships.
In his spare time, he enjoyed taking care of his property, then relaxing on his porch with a beer while stealing the household bread to feed the birds. He was an avid NASCAR fan, proud father, and loyal friend. He often brought home unique treasures he found throughout his travels; one man’s junk was often his treasure.
Kenny leaves behind his high school sweetheart, who later became his wife Lynn Paquin (Fontaine). Ken and Lynn were married for 23 years, and in total they spent 32 years of their lives together. They created an amazing family with two boys and two girls: Brendon Paquin, Daren Paquin, Madison Paquin, and Sadie Paquin all who reside at the Paquin Homestead in East Killingly where Ken was born and raised. In addition to his children, he leaves behind Brendon’s girlfriend, Stasia Czernicki.
He is survived by his parents Edward Paquin Sr. and Nancy Paquin (Sonner) From Dummer, NH, his sister Jennifer Pringle of NH, and his brother Edward Paquin Jr (Bud) of Plainfield, CT as well as his grandmother Roberta Lamphere of Foster RI, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Ken will certainly be missed dearly by his wife, children, family and friends.
Please join his family in celebrating his life on Saturday September 30, 2023, from 9am until noon at the East Killingly Fire Station located at 1395 Hartford Pike, Killingly CT 06241.
