In Loving Memory of Kenneth "Ken" Fox

Some people leave this world quietly but anyone that knows him knows he didn't do anything quietly. Leaving behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, banter, and love. Kenneth "Ken" Fox did just that.

Ken, 73, of East Hampton, CT, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Middlesex Hospital, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Born on November 20, 1952, in Middletown, Connecticut, Ken was one of thirteen siblings born into a big, spirited family. He was the son of the late Joseph "Rick" Fox and Caroline (Jeffers) Kelly. He grew up in Portland, graduated from Vinal Technical High School, and carried with him the values of hard work, loyalty, and family throughout his life.

If you knew Ken, you knew his greatest title wasn't anything he earned at work—it was Dad. His daughter, Felicia Fox of Columbia, CT, and his son, Tyler Fox of Ledyard, CT, were the center of his world. He was also a proud "grandpa" to Griffin, the family grand pup, who undoubtedly received just as much love as everyone else. Tyler's girlfriend, Heather, was also an important part of his extended family.

Ken's family tree was as big as his heart. He is survived by his brothers Joseph Fox and his wife, Ute, Meriden, CT; Edward Fox and his wife, Sandy, Newington, CT; Linda Fox, Moodus, CT; Catherine (Fox) VanBlaricom and her husband, Gene, Westbrook, CT; Thomas McDermott Danbury, CT; Joseph McDermott Morresville, NC; Lelia (McDermott) Dyer Moscow, ME; Brenda (Kelly) Bazzano and her husband, David, Waterford, CT; and Kathleen (Kelly) Brodnicki and her husband, Kevin, Gales Ferry, CT. He also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who each have their own favorite "Ken story" to tell.

Some friendships become family, and no one embodied that more than Chuck Cook. Their lifelong friendship was built on decades of laughter, loyalty, and memories, earning Chuck the unofficial title of "brother from another mother" and a permanent place in the Fox family. Waiting to welcome Ken home is the love of his life, Dee; his parents; his brothers, Christopher Fox and John McDermott; and his sister, Patricia (McDermott) Arnett.

Ken wasn't measured by the things he owned but by the people who loved him. He had a way of making people feel welcome, sharing a laugh when it was needed most, and reminding everyone around him that family isn't just who you're born to—it's who you choose to love and stand beside.

His family hopes that those who knew him will remember him with a smile, tell his stories often, laugh a little louder, love their families a little harder, and never take a single day for granted. That would be exactly what Ken would have wanted. Though his couch may now sit empty, the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will forever fill the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
