Kimberly Susan (Trinks) Chambers passed away peacefully August 3, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with early-onset dementia. Kim never lost her positive attitude or sense of humor in the face of her illness.
Kim was born on September 14, 1953, and raised in East Hartford, CT, where she graduated from Penney High School. She cherished her close relationships with her parents, Bill and Elvia (Person) Trinks and her sisters.
Kim was an active and health-conscious person, and she enjoyed many hobbies. She had a life-long love of duckpin bowling and competed in weekly leagues with her mother, sisters, and close friends. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, and a good brisk walk.
Nothing beat Kim's love of music. She grew up playing the piano and organ, and in retirement found great joy in learning and playing the drums. She played with a local rock band and was fondly known as "The Church Lady" on stage. She also loved to contra and square dance.
Kim was an active and involved member of the First Congregational Church of Coventry, and worked in the church office for many years.
Kim is survived by her loving husband and caregiver of many years, Walter Chambers, her daughters Kristy Ramsey, Keri (Matt) Engman, and her stepchildren Sarah Stern and partner James Camp, Scott (Sonja) Chambers, Keith (Michelle) Chambers, and Walter (Denise) Chambers. She is also survived by her sisters Linda Trinks and Sandra (Edward) Miller.
The lights of Kim's life were her grandchildren Kailyn, Adelyn, Jasmyne, Evelyn, Wyatt, Libby, Jacob, Rebecca, Alyssa, and Heather.
She will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held August 11 at 11:00am at First Congregational Church of Coventry, with reception to follow. The family welcomes donations in Kim's name to the Missions and Ministries of First Congregational Church of Coventry.
