October 7, 1955 - December 17, 2025

Laura Brown, a native of Italy and longtime resident of Hanover, Massachusetts, most recently of West Hartford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on December 17, following a decline in health due to dementia.

Laura is predeceased by her father, mother and sisters. She leaves behind her husband Thomas Brown, who was with her at the time of her passing, and her daughter, Constance Brown. She is also survived by many cherished brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins, near and far.

Born and raised in Cremona, Italy, Laura immigrated to the United States in the mid-1970s, where she built a successful career in finance and a full life with her husband.

Laura approached everything with fierce determination and decisiveness. She was inquisitive, resilient, and deeply resourceful.

A dynamic and multi-talented woman, Laura’s interests were vast. She was a skilled sketch artist and an enthusiastic attendee of concerts and ballets. She shared her love of Italian culture as a language tutor and embraced travel whenever possible. Laura was also a remarkable cook and baker, an exceptional seamstress, knitter, and cross-stitcher, and a devoted gardener.

Laura’s passions extended into her role as a mother. A dedicated and supportive “horse show mom,” she volunteered with several dressage competition clubs and eventually became an equestrian herself, sharing fully in her daughter’s world.

A remarkable woman is now at rest.

Plans for a celebration of life will be announced at a future date.
