Laurie LaFlamme

Laurie A. LaFlamme of Moosup, CT, passed away at home on December 10, 2025. Born on November 10, 1961, in Providence, Rhode Island, Laurie was the daughter of James and Shirley Marandola. After the passing of her mother at a young age, Laurie’s family grew with the loving addition of her mom, Lois and four new siblings.

Together, they became a beautifully blended family of thirteen children, the Marandola siblings: Jimmy, Sheila, Doug, Candy, Tom, Teri, Laurie, Robin, and Keith; and the Drane siblings: Adrienne, Kay, Chuck, and David. The family lived in Rhode Island before ultimately settling in Sterling, CT.

Laurie was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Sheila, Candy, and Teri.

In her twenties, she welcomed her two beloved children, Nicole and Matthew. Laurie never missed a school field trip and was always ready to start the morning with a cheerful greeting, even when it was met with resistance.

Laurie was later blessed with three grandsons, Hudson, Braxton, and Ashton. They will remember their grandmother through their new puppy, Lucy, who will continue to be loved and cared for by Matthew and his family.

Laurie met her soulmate, Donnie Columbia, while managing Pulaski’s Bar and Grille in Danielson, CT. Together, they shared many adventures, traveling, spending time in Point Judith, and enjoying quiet moments at home with their beloved dogs. Donnie predeceased Laurie on December 29, 2021, and we find comfort in knowing he was waiting to welcome her with open arms.

Laurie leaves behind her children, grandchildren, many siblings, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Out of respect for Laurie’s wishes, there will be no formal services. The family asks that you celebrate Laurie’s life in a way befitting to your relationship.
