Lawrence James Kuivanen of North Stonington, CT died peacefully February 5, 2021.
He was a submariner and draftsman as well as a manufacturer of wooden toys and furniture. He also developed a unique brine shrimp hatchery and an inflatable aquarium for which he received a patent. In later years he built mortise and tenon barns and tended a big vegetable garden with his close friend Doug with whom he served on the Groton Long Point Volunteer Fire Department. Most recently, he enjoyed scratch building models of local structures for his HO layout.
Larry is sorely missed by his partner Cathy Mason, his sister Vicki, his children Bob, Anders, Isa and Thor, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services are private.
