Leslie was born April 4, 1954 in New Haven, CT. Leslie was a long time resident of New Haven. Leslie passed away on October 12th, 2021.
Leslie was a man who forged his own life's path and always advocated for himself. He made sure that his support team knew exactly what they were going to do to support him and always reminded them of that responsibility. Despite his serious ways, Leslie had a great sense of humor and would often tell you - "don't do anything I wouldn't do!"
Family was a big part of Leslie's life and he always showed his family how important they were to him. Leslie was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Wilfred (Bill) and George(Mike) Sands. Leslie leaves behind his wife Rosa, 3 step sons (Bobby, Jamie, and Ben), his grandchild Benji (who he was very proud of), a special staff Loreen, who he loved dearly, and a long time friend Anthony (Tony) Landa. As well as many staff who he left an everlasting impact on through his years at Marrakech, Inc.
Leslie enjoyed spending time with his former housemates (Albert, Laurencet, Barry, and Brian), who were like brothers to him. Leslie also enjoyed country music and going to flea markets where he never missed an opportunity to brag about his negotiation skills to get a good price for a new CD or stereo part. Leslie also valued his alone time where he could smoke his cigarettes and feel a sense of independence.
Our thoughts are with everyone that worked with him so closely and his support team. He will truly be missed! A graveside memorial will be held at Saint John’s Cemetery Christian St, Wallingford, CT 06492 on Thursday October 28th, 2021 at 11:00am.
