Remembering Linda Cave
April 23, 1948 – September 11, 2025
Linda “Candi” Cave (Daforno, Pusineri) left this world on September 11, 2025, at the age of 77. While she may have left us sooner than expected, she did so in her true fashion: still laughing, still loving, and still fabulous.
She was predeceased by her husband, John “Scot” Cave and her grandson Noah Foley, as well as family members and friends. She leaves behind, her daughters Lesley Lowe (Todd) of Brooklyn, NY, and Robin Foley (Shayn) of Niantic, CT, her grandchildren Sophia, Sienna, Claire, Owen and Gavin, her sister Deborah Sweeney (James) of Middletown, CT and a fleet of adoring family and friends.
On April 23, 1948, Linda came into this world ready to take it by storm. Growing up in the Bronx gave her a sharp wit, a colorful vocabulary, and a flair for being unapologetically herself. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School and attended Hunter College, where she likely gave her professors a run for their money.
Linda had the kind of brain that made Wikipedia feel insecure; she cleared the Jeopardy board nightly, she could talk literature, politics, science, history, music and art just as easily as she could recount any life story with comedy, flair, and a few expletives. After leaving NY, she spent most of her life in Connecticut. She first moved to Clinton where she raised her daughters and also married her second husband, Scot, whom she lovingly called her “partner in crime.”
Scot and Linda eventually moved to Haddam where their home was always open to friends, family, and rescue animals, including a small menagerie of dogs and their beloved parrot.
Linda enjoyed a successful IT consulting career and worked with EBI, the American Cancer Society, Planned Parenthood, and Mott Corporation, retiring in 2014. In retirement, she turned her lifelong talent of crochet into creating cherished hats, gloves, baby sets, and blankets (under the delightful name of “Happy Hooker”) at the Connecticut River Artisans co-op.
Linda was known for her huge heart and quick wit. She deeply loved her daughters, grandchildren, her family and friends, and, of course, her animals. She was the kind of person who created enduring relationships and story-worthy experiences. To know Linda was to love her.
She believed every single day was a new beginning and truly lived life to the fullest. Although we’re heartbroken she's gone, Linda is — and always will be — unforgettable.
The family will hold a private service and burial. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date for family, friends, and all who loved her. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Old Dogs Go To Helen: Senior & Hospice Sanctuary at www.olddogsgotohelen.com/donate.

Such a beautiful tribute! Candi was a character and very loved! We still can’t believe she is gone 😢 Will make a donation to Old Dogs soon ❤️
