Loria J. Stopa, 63, of Old Saybrook, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023 with family at her side. She graduated from Old Lyme High School. She was employed at Owl Electronics Labs in Old Saybrook, but primarily was a house wife raising her son Mathew. Loria was born on June 27, 1960 in Middletown and was the daughter of the late Bradley E. Gulliksen and the late Gloria Freeman. She is survived by her ex-husband James Stopa from Dover Pennsylvania and son Mathew Stopa of Old Saybrook Connecticut. She also had two brothers Chris Gulliksen (deceased) and Bruce Buckland of West Palm Beach Florida, and a sister Doreen Buckland from Ivoryton Connecticut. Loria also had four nieces and nephews, Nicole Buckland and Timothy Buckland from West Palm Beach Florida, Julian Gulliksen from West Tisbury Massachusetts and Jazmin Gulliksen from Old Saybrook Connecticut.
Loria grew up in Old Lyme Connecticut and loved the waters of Long Island Sound and Martha’s Vineyard. She enjoyed writing poems and listening to music. She loved angels and had a large collection which she adored. She also loved dogs and had many throughout her life.
