Her kitchen was a warm and welcoming space, filled with the rich, comforting aromas of home-cooked meals, like savory arroz con habichuelas (rice with beans) and her crispy fried chicken, a favorite among family and friends. Family gatherings were never complete without her flavorful food, which she lovingly prepared with meticulous care. Lydia’s passion for cooking was more than just a skill; it was a way for her to express her love and bring people together. Her meals were not only a feast for the senses but a symbol of her warmth, as she always made sure that no one left her home hungry or without a plate full of comfort.
Lydia also enjoyed reading the novels of V.C. Andrews and found joy in listening to timeless classics by artists such as The Platters and Elvis Presley.
