It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Marie-Jose Zamor Montas, our beloved mother and guiding hand. She passed away peacefully on Saturday at her home in West Hartford, joining her husband, Jacques Louis Montas, in heaven.
Marie was a woman of strong faith, with a deep love for the arts, travel, and, above all, her family. She was an active member of St. John Parish in West Hartford, where she dedicated her time to helping and organizing charitable efforts for communities in Cuba and Haiti.She worked in the Hematology Department at Hartford Hospital for 40 years, where she formed many deep and lasting friendships that continued well beyond her time there.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Florence Spencer, and her husband Jeff; grandson Jeffrey; granddaughters Michele and Gabrielle; son Eric and his wife Anne; son Paul and his wife Myla, and their daughter Melanie; son Doug and his wife Casey, and grandchildren Alycia and Jakob.Marie will be remembered for her quick wit, keen insight, and deep compassion for others.
Services will be held at St. John's Parish in West Hartford on Monday 11/10 at 11am with a gathering of remembrance afterwards with hors d'ouvres.
