Marion Cavagnuolo

Marion Cavagnuolo, 87, of Derby, passed away at her home on August 19, 2026. She was born on September 30, 1938, in Derby to Louis and Mary Pascucillo.

Marion was the wife of the late Fred Cavagnuolo, with whom she shared nearly 25 years of marriage. The joining of their families created lasting bonds of love that continue to this day.

Marion proudly worked as an X-ray technician for many years before becoming a caregiver to the elderly. In addition to raising her two daughters, she raised her beloved granddaughter, Danielle. She will be remembered above all for the unconditional love she gave to her family.

Marion loved flowers, birds and nature, and shared her life and home with several dogs over the years. She loved music, outings with her family—especially those involving ice cream—and her annual trip to Cape Cod. An avid New York Yankees fan, she especially enjoyed watching the games at home with her granddaughter. Before the onset of her illness, Marion also loved to cook.

A devout Catholic, Marion held steadfastly to her faith throughout her life. She endured profound hardship and loss, yet never lost her compassion, her sense of humor, or her ability to find joy in the people and simple pleasures she loved.

In addition to her parents, siblings and husband, Marion was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Murray.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Danielle Murray; her daughter, Grace Murray McLean, and son-in-law, Michael McLean. She is also survived by Fred Cavagnuolo, Dolores Nappi, and Thomas and Joann Martino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Church at 212 Elizabeth Street in Derby on August 28, 2026 at 10AM, followed by a luncheon hosted by the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brass City Rescue Alliance, the animal rescue that brought Ginger, her beloved dog, into her life.
