Marion Curtis of Madison CT, peacefully passed on Wednesday August 19th. Marion was a longtime resident of Enfield CT where she raised her family of three daughters: Terri Pearson of Avon CT, Cindie Curtis of Farmington CT & Carolyn Bernard of Guilford CT. Marion had 6 grandsons: Robert Pearson, Ryan Pearson, Alexander Curtis, Christopher Bernard, Devin Bernard, and Hunter Bernard. Marion worked for 18 years at Hallmark Cards where she made lifelong friends. Upon retirement she moved to Madison CT.
Marion was one of eight children. She is survived by siblings Evelyn Dabros of Wethersfield CT, Janet Levy of Midlothian VA, Eugene Plympton of Glastonbury CT, and Nancy Strogoff of Norwich CT, as well as, 11 nieces and nephews.
Marion was a longtime lover and collector of classic movies. She enjoyed introducing the very best of them to her family and friends. Once retired she became an avid gardener and was an active member of the Garden Club of Madison for 12 years. Marion was a mah-jongg enthusiast, playing weekly with her friends at the Madison Senior Center. Her interests also included travel and photography. While she heard many “complaints” as she asked family members to “pose”, the moments she captured in her creative photo albums will provide many wonderful memories in years to come.
Marion’s family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the clinical team at Yale New Haven Smilow Cancer Hospital where she received compassionate care. A celebration of her life will be held at Bauer Farm located at 257 Copse Rd. Madison, CT on Saturday September 19, at 1:00 pm.
