Mark Edward Postovoit

1954 – 2025

After a brief stay at St. Francis Hospital, Mark Edward Postovoit passed away peacefully at the age of 70. Surrounded by comfort care, he held on for six days with remarkable strength and resilience.

Mark’s life had its share of challenges, but he lived it with a tenacious spirit—proudly independent for nearly forty years after escaping a group home in Hartford. His resilience and fierce will to live left an unforgettable mark on those who knew him.

He was the beloved son of the late Nicholas H. Postovoit and Lucille Jones (formerly Postovoit), and was preceded in death by his brothers Paul and Bobby. He is survived by his sister Sherry, his brothers Nick and Alan, and his sister Christine. Mark also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who loved him and will carry his memory forward.

Mark had his quirks and challenges, but he was ours, and we loved him deeply. Over the years, we found creative ways to care for him—bribing him with iPhones to get his cataracts done, keeping his beloved DVD player running, and doing our best to help him live with dignity and comfort.

Though his health declined sharply in recent years—and he nearly passed last summer—he held on longer than anyone thought possible. That was Mark: strong-willed, persistent, and full of fight.

Now, we believe he’s finally found peace.

Rest easy, Mark. You’re free now—in Jesus’ name.

Per his wishes, there will be no public services.
