Matthew Thomas Denesha, 47 of Sterling, CT, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at Davis Place in Danielson, from conditions caused by Alzheimer's disease.
Matthew was born with the gift of Downs Syndrome, on July 7, 1973, to parents James Denesha and Ilona Schrader (nee Penttinen). He is survived by: his mother and step-dad James Schrader; his father; his siblings Christopher Denesha and wife Sharleen, Rebekka Bronwell and her husband Robert, James Denesha and his wife Diana, Michael Denesha and his wife Kristin, step-brother Chris Schrader and his wife Julie; his nieces and nephews John and Acacia Denesha, Maegan and Robert Bronwell, and Carson, Colin, and Kaylee Shrader.
Matthew was a loving son, a wonderful brother, and an adoring uncle to the nieces and nephews he spent time with. He was an adorable grandson and nephew to all that were blessed to spend time with him. The impact his life has made on extended family and friends is unmeasurable. He was a lifelong fan and loved to watch wrestling. In his more able years, he bowled with his brother and on a league. He enjoyed horseback riding and making friends with other riders. So many smiles he produced, with a finger poke and ‘I got you!’ exclamation. His beautiful and gentle soul seemed capable of speaking to animals, and he was a proud ‘daddy’ to his rescue dog Journey.
His family takes solace in the knowledge his passing was free from pain. We would like to acknowledge the caring CNA’s, nurses, and staff of Davis Place, for the comfort and care they provided to our beloved Matthew. There will be no funeral services. An online memorial and video will be posted online in coming weeks.
