Maynard Bartlett

Maynard Bartlett, 94, of Farmington, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born on December 23, 1930, in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Maynard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, spending time overseas during the Korean War. Following his military service, he built a long and accomplished career as a machine designer, spending many years with the Arthur G. Russell Company in Bristol, Connecticut, where he earned a patent for his innovative work.

Maynard made his home in Farmington, where he and his wife raised their family and built a life rooted in love, hard work, and community. He was a devoted fan of the University of Connecticut Huskies basketball team and a lifelong supporter of the Boston Red Sox, seldom missing a game and always ready to talk sports.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Rita (Roy) Bartlett; his daughter Carol Bartlett O’Hala and her husband Tom O’Hala of Austin, Texas; his son Gary Bartlett and his significant other Laura Heidler of Bradenton, Florida; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. His legacy of kindness, integrity, and dedication lives on in each of them.

No public services are planned. The family will hold a private celebration of Maynard’s life at a future date. He will be interred at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, Connecticut.

Maynard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
