Melvyn B. Robbins Jr. passed away peacefully at Middlesex Hospital on July 2nd, 2025.


Mel was born at Hartford Hospital on July 9th, 1957, to Barbara and Melvyn Robbins. Mel was a resident of Durham, formerly from Cromwell. He was a 1975 graduate of Cromwell High School. After high school, Mel left to live in Houston and Dallas, Texas, and the Carolinas, where he did roofing and construction work. Mel also worked for Stamms Construction for many years. He enjoyed working with his hands and in the outdoors. Mel loved helping his family and friends with his knowledgeable skills when needed. He will be truly missed by family and friends.


The family would like to thank the nurses and PCT workers in Hospice at Middlesex Hospital for the loving care they gave to our brother.


Mel was predeceased by his parents, Barbara and Melvyn Sr., also his brother Jimmy Robbins and nephew Daniel Duclos. He leaves behind his siblings, Brian Robbins, Denise Robbins Duclos and Gene, Debbie Robbins and Kevin Johnson, also his nieces, Amanda and Kelley Johnson, Sarah Butterworth and Damon.


Services will be held at the First Congregational Church on Saturday, July 19th, at 11. 355 Main St. Cromwell. Followed by a Celebration of Life at the Middletown Elks on 44 Maynard St.


Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Hillside Cemetery, West Cromwell.
