Michael B. Foy Jr., otherwise lovingly referred to as Mike or Pollo, 50 of Enfield, died Thursday, November 2nd, 2023 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Mike was born on May 7th, 1973, in Hartford, CT, the first son of Mary Ann Chiapponi and the late Michael B. Foy Sr. Mike was predeceased by his brother, Mark Foy.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of four years Susan Wood, stepdaughters Ismoni Walker and Brielle Archer, his mother Mary Ann Chiapponi (Michael), brother Matthew Chiapponi (Suzanne), and nephews Cooper, Connor, and Collin. He also leaves his loving puppy Pongo.
Mike is known by many in the community for his 17 years of work at the Country Diner. He was a kind smile behind the line, welcoming guests and joking with friends and coworkers. Mike then transitioned to working at Amazon, where he was consistently awarded for high performance in his role there. Outside of work, Mike loved anything and everything about music. He spent much of his life going to concerts, learning about artists, and even sang in a band in high school. Mike enjoyed going on spontaneous adventures with his wife and daughters, making memories whenever they could. He lived a full life and was a genuine soul.
Memories and messages of condolence may be shared with the family at his celebration of life.
The memorial will be held on Friday, November 17th, 2023, from 5-8pm at Somers Congregational Church (599 Main Street, Somers, CT). Services will begin at 5pm, Pastors Stacie and Ray Byrdsong will lead us in prayer at 6pm, and friends and family can connect and share memories for the remaining hour.
Wow what a loss. I am so sorry to hear this news. Michael was one of the first people I met when I started at Amazon. A truly nice guy BDL2 will miss you friend
