Michael Edward Ogden, 56, of Danbury, CT, died Aug 26, 2022 after a long illness.
He was born in Danbury, CT, April 12, 1966. Mike graduated from St. Peter School and Henry Abbot Technical School in Danbury.
Michael worked for many years in carpentry, building custom stairs. He played softball in Danbury for many years on teams in the Danbury Industrial League, Sunday League and Weekend Open. He was also an active bowler and golfer. Mike was an avid fisherman, often going with his brother Bart on Long Island Sound and with his cousin David in the Gulf of Mexico.
He was a big fan of the New York Giants, New York Mets and auto racing, especially Formula One. He also had a big interest in World War II, inspired by his father, a WWII veteran, and had watched Band of Brothers numerous times.
He is survived by beloved daughter Kassidy Jean (Dan Benzing), who was the pride of his life. Michael is also survived by his siblings Richard Ogden (Genie); Bart Ogden (Donna); James Ogden (Melissa); Ann-Marie McLaughlin (Scott); his former wife Kelly; his stepdaughter Kally and his Aunt Vera Ogden; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Anne Ogden; and his brother, Dennis Ogden.
The family would like to thank the staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital for the care he received.
Memorial arrangements will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, from 3:00-6:00 PM, at 10 Christopher Columbus Ave, Danbury, CT. The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Mike's name.
