Miguel F. Ocasio 2022

Miguel F. Ocasio passed peacefully at age 79 on January 20th, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury, Ct., in the presence of a loved one, and the excellent caring nursing staff of Vitas Hospice Care Team.


He was preceded in death by both his parents, Julio Ocasio Santoyo and Tomasa Vega Martinez, and his eldest son Miguel Ocasio Jr. He is survived by his lifelong partner and wife,

Aida M Ocasio and his children: Lillian Timothy, Elizabeth Martinez, Jose Ocasio, and Richard Ocasio. His brothers: Marcelo Ocasio, Vicente Ocasio, and Roque Ocasio. His sisters: Ines Ocasio, Agapita Ocasio and Nelly Ocasio. Multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.


He was born in Puerto Rico where he worked in transportation, later moving to Waterbury, Conn. where he worked at Ideal Forging as a machinist til his retirement.


Miguel will be remembered by his friends and loved ones as a generous, loving, hardworking individual with a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family, telling jokes and eating sweets. He loved to watch old western movies, episodes of The Honeymooners, and old Bruce Lee movies.


He especially enjoyed watching videos of his great granddaughter Emma, as she danced and played with her dolls. That will truly be our most precious memory. He will be missed by all and will live forever in our hearts. A memorial service will be planned for a later time.
