Nancy Webster 1938-2022

Nancy Margaret (Milner) Webster

1938-2022

Nancy Webster passed away peacefully September 23 after a long illness at home and surrounded by friends and family. She was born in Salem, Massachusetts and raised in Danvers. After High School, Nancy attended Northeastern University and began a secretarial career at MIT’s emerging computer lab. While there Nancy was a NRA Rifle Team champion. In 1970 she married William “Bill” Webster and moved to Connecticut. She resided in Clinton, CT, for over 40 years at Blaisdell Point.

Nancy and Bill spent their free time on their boat Swamp Yankee, participated in Rendezvous up and down the Atlantic coast, and volunteering at their friend’s boat show events. As active animal-lovers, their crew always included a dog or two. Nancy erected an Osprey pole on their salt meadow, and worked with local organizations to perpetually protect the salt meadow and the numerous waterfowl that visit. A life-long lover of the water, Nancy joined others at the Westbrook YMCA for 35 years of morning swim, creating lifetime friends she cherished to her last days.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents, George and Helen (Alderson) Milner; her husband, William W. Webster; her brother Glennie, sister Elaine and niece Tracy Keller. She leaves behind friends, good neighbors, and fond memories.

A future memorial service will be held at her home at Blaisdell Point, on the Indian River.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Clinton Land Conservation Trust – Osprey Preservation, P.O. Box 121, Clinton, CT 06413, or the charity of your choice.
