Nicholas Joseph Olenechuk

Nicholas Joseph Olenechuk (Poppa Nick), age 67 of Seymour Connecticut, passed away after a short illness on February 13, 2025, at Waterbury Hospital.  Nick was born on December 22, 1957 to the late John and Olga Olenechuk.  He was predeceased by his brothers Jerome Olenechuk, James Olenechuk, and John Olenechuk.  Nick worked at Sikorsky Aircraft and later moved with his family to California where he continued his career at Northrup Grumman Aerospace Company.  Later he returned to Connecticut and furthered his career with auto mechanics. Nick had a love of auto racing and Motown music. He had the ability to lighten up a room and make anyone smile with his casual humor and easiness. Nick enjoyed the simple moments with his grandchildren whether it was decorating Easter eggs or making paper crafts for his Christmas tree. He is survived by his significant other for over twenty years, Maria Correnti, his daughter Nichole Olenechuk, his daughter Rachel Hayes and her husband Chris Hayes, grandchildren Julia Olenechuk, Anthony Olenechuk, Timothy Hayes and Joshua Hayes, his sister Carol Olenechuk Brenton, nieces Sara Olenechuk Mariano, Tanya Hebert, Jessica Fowlkes, Kayla Brenton, nephews John Olenechuk and Dan Olenechuk, as well as his beloved cat, Sam. Per Nick’s request, there will be no services or visitation hours, but taking a moment to share with others your memories of him is greatly appreciated.
