Norman R. Boilard 1935-2018

Norman R. Boilard of Plainville, CT, 83, beloved husband of Lucille Boilard (Gaumond), passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Son of Joseph R. and Alice Boilard (Camden), Norman was born in New Britain, CT, where he lived for several years before moving to Plainville.


Norman proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, and worked over 35 years as a manager for the A&P Tea Company. He cherished spending time with family and friends, building and flying model airplanes, watching UCONN basketball, and attending concerts, especially Jethro Tull.


Norman is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, his devoted daughters Lorraine Baker and Anthony Giobbe of Bethany, CT, Linda and Matt Dinnan of Hamden, CT, and Lori and Scott Rosborg of Bristol, CT. He leaves four adored grandchildren, Courtney Dinnan-Knapp and her husband, David of Cheshire, CT, Matthew Dinnan of Hamden, CT, Daniel Rosborg and his fiancé, Sophia Dzikas of Bristol, CT, and Mitchell Rosborg of Bristol, CT. He is also survived by his brother Paul Boilard and his wife, Sheila, of Vernon, CT, and many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, Norman is predeceased by his sisters Carmella McKeon, Ida Michaud and brother Marcel Boilard.


A mass of celebration will take place at 10am on Saturday, November 10, at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad Street, Plainville, CT.


The family would like to express a special thank you to Norman’s hospice nurse, Kim Doerfler and the staff at Hartford Healthcare at Home.
